The Tennessee Association of Roofing Contractors awarded $3,000 in scholarships from the TARC Scholarship Fund for the Fall Semester. Recipients for 2019 (pictured above from L to R) are Haleigh Sutton, William Pond and Olivia Szot.
Haleigh Sutton of Lebanon, TN is awarded one of the two contractor’s scholarships. Haleigh is a multimedia productions student at Belmont University. She has been a member of the National Honors Society for four years and has been involved in the Nashville Academy of Makeup Arts.
William Pond of Cottontown, TN is the recipient of the second licensed contractor scholarship. William is a student at Volunteer State Community College and is majoring in business management with a focus on construction. He is a basketball and baseball athlete and holds academic honors.
Oliva Szot of Arlington, TN will be attending the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. She is the recipient of the Thomas Herbert Scholarship, also known as the Associate Member’s Scholarship. Oliva plans to earn her doctoral degree Marine Biology and to study the oceans’ ecosystems to help preserve wild life and coral reefs. Aside from her studies, Olivia works part time.
Every year the Tennessee Association of Roofing Contractors strives to raise money and award deserving students to advance their education across Tennessee. To date, TARC has given $96,000 in scholarships since its inception.
